Anothamista @ Opening of Textile Fashion Center

Adetoun, Lars and Sandra

And we call it a wrap! Here's a small compilation from the Anothamista Pop-up Exhibition at the Textile Fashion Center. As the very first public kick-off of our concept, this truly turned out to be a success.

The official opening of the Textile Fashion Center brought with it a curious crowd of visitors from all over Sweden to celebrate the conception of the new Nordic textile and fashion hub combining science, culture, innovation and business

We were glad to meet several familiar faces such as Sweden's greatest couture designer, Lars Wallin, special guest for the opening ceremony. We are also very grateful to have some of the designers behind the featured brands as well as a team of supporting friend and family come support us on this very great day.

Modern Cuts for Long Term Beauty by Lx at am

“It’s the desire to create a modern, confident and feminine look which characterises the Lx at am collections."
(LXATAM

We like the masculine-inspired tailoring against feminine silhouettes and timelessly classic pieces that Lx at am has to offer this season. Whats more, every fashionista can acknowledge the value of an investment in pieces that can be transitioned to work from office to late night parties - morning to night. We really look forward to seeing more from them.

Resolved Luxury by UNEINS

UNEINS offers beautifully resolved luxury created for the new generation of cosmopolitan women.

This Spring/Summer 2014 collection “Toxication” is inspired by the increasing synergy of nature and substance, resulting in an ambivalent, beautiful but toxic, fusion of organics and man-made structures and elements.

What we greatly appreciate about this brand is their strong emphasis on craftsmanship and unconventional combinations of materials. Check them out here to see more pieces of their collection.

Not Just Anotha Ballerina

Monochrome, the inspiration of several designers over the past few seasons, happens to be a trend that never fades away. We like that it’s timeless, classy and simply easy to combine with a simple pop of color to add a finishing touch. We decided to do just that with a pair of fuchsia boots from Acne to keep the look interesting and somewhat fun.

"Pale Grain was started as a simple image-making project with the aim of using my old archival photographs to produce new visual narrations, which later turned to be a platform for my entire creative production."
(Mert Sahbaz)

Mert, the individual behind these exquisite art pieces has a flair for experimenting with images to create captivating works of art.

It's a little bit abstract; at times a bit more concrete. Geometric and sometimes soft. The best thing is that it's available in limited editions. Check them out at Palegrain.com or visit this May's upcoming markets and get your own piece of art.

Going Back to our Roots

...Helsinki, Gothenburg, Lagos, Borås...
...and the list goes on.
Our somewhat unconventional Scandi-Nigerian backgrounds as is evident in the looks in the collage above, give us an appreciation for vibrant colorful prints yet with a blend of subtle minimalism. In addition to this though, we derive our influence from various different sources of inspiration that we hope to deliver through each blog post.
In the end, our taste could be characterized as being fashion-forward, interesting and let's say...just a little bit different.
